Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to give a bonus or extra effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors or other players, looted or obtained as rewards, or made with crafting materials. Upgrades can have cosmetic effects, in addition to giving bonus attributes.
Upgrade components include inscriptions enhancements, and infusions. They are not generally accessible to the general public and can only be used on equipment that has been elevated or on certain weapons that are not ascending from the Factions Campaign. Infusions can be recovered or inscriptions, as well as enrichments from your equipment using an Extractor Device or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Like other upgrade products, Phoenix Boxes can be traded while still attached to the item they are upgrading, and they can be re-used after being reclaimed. These upgrade items can be used to improve the quality of armor and weapons without the expense of Dilithium. They can increase the likelihood that an item will receive a quality upgrade.
An upgrade component placed within an item can be replaced with another, but doing so destroys the previous one (except for upgrades of legendaries and equipment with ascended levels). Only upgraded items that have an identification level of 0 or greater can include upgrade components them. If you add an upgrade to the weapon already equipped with a suffix or a prefix upgrade, the item will be referred to as it appears on the game screen (for instance, adding an Radiant insignia to Canthan Armor makes it Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). A player can own up to three upgrade items at once.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a useful addition to any item, because they offer a variety of unique benefits and boosts. Some Glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, increasing the power of the item. These glyphs are obtained by working through the dungeons. Some are even found in specific World Tier 3 zones. It's important to note that glyphs are not available on a character who has not been able to create an area of root dungeons of the same depth.
To make use of a Glyph you must first create it using components and then connect them using anchors. Then the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't want to create the glyph with components, you can use a combination of anchors and paths. Then, drag an element close to a highlighted component to snap it into place.
Certain glyphs have requirements to meet, such as having a minimum of 25 Dexterity in a specific region on the Paragon Board. Some require a specific number of Primary Stat nodes to activate which is sometimes difficult to achieve. Some glyphs have a radius that grows with each level.
Glyphs are used for various items, and can be added to all weapons except for weapons of specific classes. item upgrade of these glyphs have conditional requirements for example, like having a certain number of dexterity or attack damage in a particular area on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph increases the chance of preventing enemy attacks by 5percent. It also has an opportunity of 15%, making the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
There are a few glyphs that can be added to tools that are limited-use, such as the Black Lion Chest or Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most common glyphs in the game are the attack glyphs which boost Artifacts' ATK substats by a fixed amount. These glyphs are particularly useful for classes that rely on weapons with a range, such as Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies that hit the Hero vulnerable to being damaged.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are special tokens that are used to roll back one of the results that are rolled when taking an Action. When the reroll happens they are discarded. Reroll tokens can be gained in several ways, including through the dungeons, raids and skirmishes. They can also be bought at the store or purchased from other players. They are especially useful in dungeons and trials because they let players reroll the rewards from the end chest.
Recycle point values are provided for items that are at level 1. If an item is recycled it will add a certain number of points to the gauge of upgrade. This is based on the rarity of the item and its level. In addition the upgraded item will not retain its level when rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item increases depending on its level.
Alternatively, a player can make use of reroll tokens to roll an upgrade item again, but this will not return the item to its original condition or provide its original extra stats. This is useful for those who want to reroll an item they don't love and want to keep it in their collection.
Three different types of upgrade coins are available in the game: Reroll, randomly generated and upgrade. Each type comes with several subtypes. Reroll tokens, for instance, come in three levels that are rare, legendary and enhanced. Each level requires an item from the respective level to make the new item of that level.
To make use of rerolling tokens choose "Reroll Token" by right-clicking the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Then, choose a type of token. The tokens that are available include Item Weapon, Misc, 1hgun, 2hgun and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a new Item in any quality. A Weapon or Misc token can create a new weapon from the same faction.
The item could also be upgraded to a different item with similar stats, but at a higher level. This is likely to occur if the item has been placed in the Non-Droppable Pool or if it was transferred to the pool as part of the franchise card.
