World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.
In the final game, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. item upgrader can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For example, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
